Environmental Testing

Introduction

Products for the defence, automotive and aerospace sectors are exposed to severe physical and climatic hazards throughout their operational life. Their design and development requires stringent performance testing to assure durability to such environmental hazards.

Other products such as medical devices, IT equipment and industrial machinery contain fragile components which can suffer damage from every-day handling or delivery hazards. Almost any product can exhibit unexpected and damaging responses to apparently benign impacts and vibration because of adverse resonances within internal frameworks or packaging assemblies.

Environmental testing allows the understanding and measurement of product durability, the assurance of reliability in use and the means to improve products during development. Pira’s modern laboratories are well equipped to meet your needs for mainstream environmental testing and our UKAS accreditation* provides assurance of the quality of our work.

  • Flexibility, responsiveness and commitment are core values in all Pira services
  • We are proud of our proactive response, ingenuity and adaptability: whether you need a mid-test change in schedule, engineering support, ideas or just a breathing space, we are there to help
  • Should you have to re-book we have flexible schedules to ensure you avoid delays
