Specific Migration
The Food Contact Legislation 2002/72/EC, as amended, lays down specific migration limits for monomers and additives. Framework Directive 1935/2004 requires that packaging materials do not transfer their components to foods in concentrations that might affect the health of the consumer or result in a taint.
Pira has more than twenty years experience in measuring the migration of packaging components into foods. Expert knowledge of the legislation coupled with our expertise in migration testing into foods ensures cost effective compliance with the legislation.
